28 Oct. 2003

Ok I haven't seen my mobile phone yet due to the delay of delivery!!!

I had a gathering with my uni friends yesterday. It's been so long since I last saw them. Two of them were talking about work work work...so I just ate ate ate.

I went to a popular hot pot restaurant today with Perry and Peifang. We got there at 10:45 am cus the place opened at 11:00 am. Within 10 mins after its opening, the restaurant was packed with people. Half of them were hungry and half of them were just curious about why their hot pot would be so so popular. The main ingredient of the base soup is lemon grass. Dipping sauce and drink are all made of lemon grass. It was so different from ordinary hot pot. Its light taste leaves you no greasy feeling afterwards. It was a very satisfying lunch. I always saw many people queuing up outside the restaurant when I drove by. I guess We were lucky to get in early today. What made me happier was that I got a parking space right in front of the lemon grass restaurant. :) We had a political talk at the table. It can be fun when you have allies. :)

I took a 2-hour break before heading for the swimming pool. The place was packed with kids. Good that they didn't come to the non-stop lanes. I spent my whole afternoon burning some caleries that I stored in the past month. But I went to a wedding reception dinner afterwards.....sigh~~

The wedding reception meal is very different from western kinds, I suppose. When you come to a traditional Taiwanese wedding lunch or dinner, you sit down and eat non-stop the whole 1.5 hours. Usually there will be 10 courses. It starts with starters and several main courses and then ends up with soup, fruit and desserts. People usually can't finish all the courses so the host will prepare doggy bags for guests to bring back untouched food. You don't want to waste the food because you pay for it. It is a tradition to give red envolopes with money to the newly weds. In this occasion, you pay sky high price for a meal. So get married, you might be able to make some pocket money from it. :p

My shoulders are so sore. I need to be massaged.
